I know that windows has the Remote Desktop Web thing, and I've had nothing but problems trying to get that to work. So does anyone know of a good program, preferably open source, that will allow me to access my home computer from work using the web browser through a company proxy?

Thanks Much

^ RealVNC has something known as a 'Java viewer', i.e. you can access the remote PC via a java-enabled web browser.

However the previous version of RealVNC had a serious security exploit in it, allowing anyone to get access to a machine with the VNC server running. I found out about it the hard way ! Needless to say my faith in RealVNC has been shaken up a bit after that. So do look around for better versions or keep an eye on the bugs list.

PC Anywhere allows you to do the same... and I think that has encryption too (they tunnel the data over SSH).

ferrar! is the king of such stuff, where is he nowadays?

Well I installed remotely anywhere and it worked fine on my other computers at home but when I got to work, where I'm at right now, I tried to get on but I can't use https only http. So now I need to be able to use Remotely Anywhere with http and I've searched their site for info to change this so I can call home to have them change the settings but they include no helpful info.

Also, I can log on using a site like guardmy.info but I can't use any of the features.
