Forum Feedback Progress update - December 2021

So as promised earlier, I am posting the current status of the application. It is like a preview of things to come.

A lot of work is still remaining:

• Login/Register
• User Profiles
• Counters (votes, views, comment, followers, posts)
• Subscriptions (posts, communities, users)
• Voting
• Filters for Community, Post and Comment
• Notifications
• Search
• User Ladder
• Advanced Pagination
• User Conversations
• Market Feedback
• Reviews

I would be working on user management and profiles in January. Might even complete counters, subscriptions and voting by then. Depends on how much time Authentication and security setup takes.

Had run into another decision point of which user auth service to use. Considered between Google Firebase, AWS Cognito or just plain email/password. Have decided to use Firebase for now, which will require me to setup a middle layer between app and database. Planning to use AWS API Gateway for that and the base setup will take some time. It will however ease development for features that will follow.

Will enjoy some Civilization 6 in my free time for the next few days in my free time instead of working on this.

So user authentication and security setup is almost done. Have also migrated middle layer to API Gateway and Lambda. Just some hardening left on database side. Working on subscriptions and user profile now, doing some UI redesign before I jump back into development of these features. Will start work on counters and voting after that.

An alpha release by the end of Jan looks difficult. Motivation level has dipped a bit. Will complete till notifications from the list in the first post before an Alpha.

This looks great, other day I was looking for a mobile app. Is there any progress on this lately? Let me know if I can be a alpha/beta test it on mobile and if you need any help By the way I'm a software developer can help build the website for sure if required on weekends.
