Well, a long gap since my last update.
http://www.tomshardw...ock,3106-4.html
Seems like almost everyone agrees that the multiplayer is quite demanding, in terms of hardware requirements and also the frequent updates, etc
(I used to be confused when people said they could play 1080p at Ultra/High on GPUs that seemed to struggle to run 1680x1050/Medium.
Come maps like 'Wake Island' with lots of Sand+Water+Sky and things would become even more difficult.
Then i realised most of these guys had played the BF3 demo/single player and i was checking only the retail multiplayer)
The G620+P8H61-M PLUS2 setup had gone to my friend while i took back my i5-650+P7H55-M LX for testing, temporaily... which had kinda become permanent to my friend's dismay.
Moving to the latter does seems to have helped, though still unsure how great excatly. Still haven't checked those screenies with fraps.
Also got some more stuff for this rig- hope to post that soon too.
"Where we do see the potential for Sandy Bridge-E to drive additional performance is in processor-bound games like World of Warcraft or the multiplayer component of Battlefield 3."
