Projection TVs

I am getting a sweet deal on a used Samsung Projection TV. Should I go for it? Are projection TVs reliable? What about picture quality? Any ideas on the price(to compare notes)?

I have one. They fade over time and its not going to be easy to replace parts or repair them.

Since Projection TVs have been discontinued almost everywhere, it will be better to stay off now.

BTW, I have had a 50" Sony projection TV since past 3 years. I never ever faced any problem. There has been no fading or anything as above commentator has experienced. Original bulb is still going strong though I have already bought a spare just in case. I consider this TV one of my best purchases ever.

Instead of projection TV buy an LED/LCD TV. That will last long and will be good also.

Also I have seen the RGB color scales on Projected TV image, which doesn't look good from close distance.

We have a projection TV in our office and I don't like it's picture quality.
