^^Budget not a problem? Why are you looking here? This is the place you should be looking at

HigherFi SPEAKERS - Worlds Best Audio Hifi Speakers

Please don't run away looking at the prices .

WTF , I nearly fell down from my chair when i saw the price:S .Sorry i forgot to mention,The person who needs the projector is a noob and doesn't know much about Tech. I want him to buy a good high end one because the thing(home theatre and the projector) shouldn't become obsolete in 2-3 years.....The home theatre and the projector will be used for watching movies and listening to music

Which city is your friend from

In Bombay check out the shop pro fx .Profx - Advanced Audio Solutions

Also theres a shop behind Shoppers stop, Juhu...forgot the name

The speakers brands you should be looking at are B&W , KEF, Polk Audio, Focal.

For amps check Harman Kardon, Marantz and Denon

No idea about projector

Optoma HD 65, Sony VPL AW10

These are 720P home theatre projectors. 1080p home theatre projectors are horribly expensive.(more than 2000$)

Buy a home theatre system from Yahama, Marantz, Onkyo.

Really, how much do you want to spend? A lakh, two, ten or twenty? There are solutions available till ten times that, and maybe more.

What are the characteristics of the room? Dark, light, is it soundproofed or be required to? How much noise are you willing to tolerate? And you're going to run it off a laptop? Get real - do you know the abilities of a laptop's graphic card? It's already obsolete. And they don't have much more than 320GB storage, and the laptops with Blu-ray drives are expensive. I'm hoping your friend has one of these.

I could help a little bit with the audio, but you'll need to help me with some more concrete information. Throwing money at a question usually does not result in an answer.
