Hi,

Posted my FDM question, still awaiting response. Here is another prob. am facing. I have CD-R which contains project reports. I need to protect (or say copyright) so that no one can duplicate or copy my CD. Please guide if there is a good solution for this.

You cant just copyright your project. Well but since you are the creator you already have the IPR to that material.

However if you want to protect your project from being stolen then you can pack all that in a winzip or better winrar file and use a good long password (using numbers alphabets and characters). So that to crack that password one requires a supercomputer or has to wait another decade for Pentium9.

As for CD protection not even billions of $ of research money has been able to find a fool proof way.

the best way to protection would be to not to distribute to one & all.
you can password protect your work(rar, zip) as renegade mentioned.
if are you having pdf files or images you can watermark them with your name.

other ways, you can mail sony - if they can share their legendary rootkit solution with you :)

As the creator, you have automatic copyright. U can assert this right by appending "Copyright (c) 2005 by Santosh" to the project title.

u seem to be mixing up copyright and write-protect.
