We're not saying that Grand Theft Auto IV will suck. In fact, we think it’ll be one of next year’s must have titles. It's just that there's another awesome open-world action title set in New York (the real one) in the works that might make Rockstar take the backseat in 2008. The game's called Prototype, and even in its early stages of development, it looks ready to outshine GTA IV in almost every way. Yes, we're being serious.

The thing I hate abt new games is all these monsters and everything. Why does it have to be that way ?? FarCry started off as a brilliant game. I never completed the game because I got bored of killing monsters and all.

why cant we just have proper human enemies ??

This game will never replace GTA.
 
dunno but the game doesnt even look like having the same concept of GTA....GTA is a completely different world altogether....

well said....Prototype looks brilliant, in the graphics dept. and might even have a great concept...but still GTA is a whole different League...GTA is known for its gangster mission-based story line, while this games looks more like a Spidey in different form :D
lets see how it shapes up

I strongly second that...:)

I like GTA coz of the human stuff and (i know some people may kill me for saying this out loud :P)...i didnt like HL1 coz of the whole alien-monster concept (i didnt finish the game tho so dunno what happens at the ending)...
 
man i used to think that its only me who does not like HL2, doom3, and the later part of Farcry, i like mystery, suspense but playing these games against those monsters in a dark room gave the creeps out of me, luckily there are others who share the same feeling, now i am feeling a bit better.

You arent alone !!

I loved FarCry until these monsters made an appearance. I gave up after that. Finished the game a few months later using cheats....

Some games, you know there will be monsters. You are prepared for it. Like Doom, HL.

But FarCry was a mega disappointment in that area.

FEAR is brilliant because it doesnt have monsters per se. But yeah... there are no proper human opponents.

Yeah, fear was indeed brilliant. The expansion pack is even better.
 
well i didnt play any recent games coz my comp is a real old P4...(one the first P4's by IBM:P...i know its not something to brag about..:P)...i have just *hold on to your chairs* 128MB ram...:(...but when i played HL it kinda sucked compared to GTA3....i am so happy to find out that there are others here who dont like HL...:D...i too thought that i was the only one living soul who does not like the so called "best game".....i agree that the strategy and complexity of HL is AWESOME...but alien and mutated monsters....come on....:P
 
GTA4 FTW for Prototype eeventhough it has a diffrent storyline and gameplay it can never replace gta4 whose predecessors were a cult hit but ithink prototype will be well recieved
 
haha whats wrong with you guys !
when i saw monsters in farcry i was like now youre talking ! bring it on ****faces! it was so much fun really XD
anyway, i think i'll like gta4 way better than prototype. i want to have a reason to use all those cars and bikes and stuff you know? if im the dude in prototype i dont need to use anything around me. but i cant wait to see either of these games.
