i wanted some info about the ps2.... :huh:

1.how much does it cost?
2.what is the price for the modchip?
3.can it play dvd movies?

The normal ps2 is out of production, you will find the new slimline ps2. its arnd 7.5-10k. Depending on where you get from

rs.1200-1600. Depending on the mod chip. for example a mod chip that would play copied games but won't play copied dvd movies would cost less than a mod chip that would play almost any dvd.

the XBOX could be a better choice, even with a limited range of games, since the graphics subsystem is much better. the rest, is as ^^^^^^^^ ;)

BTW the prices are bound to drop with the launch of PS3 but u'll have to wait for quite some time for that .
 
There is a flood of xbox games in last 2-3 months here locally in Mumbai.
The official availability maybe the reason but ya there are plenty of games now available for xbox too.
XBOX is graphically better.
PS2 has wider range of games. Its personal choice.
 
Xbox is only better in graphics, there is a reason why the ps2 pumelled xbox and gc combined. Xbox just doesn't do it with games library -
ps2 soon getting Re4.
ps2 gets the best WWE 'smackdown' games (now newly awaiting SvR 2006 , while Xbox has 2 major flops Wresltemania 21 and Raw 2.
ps2 gamers got play GTA SA 6 months before Xbox owners got it, and in the end, besides being graphically lowered, Ps2 version GTA SA has proven better than PC and Xbox ports.

i don't see any reason why one would prefer Xbox over ps2 here in India, since there is no online support for it here so that takes 1 major ps2 beating feature out. I had a chance to pick one from GC and Xbox, i still picked GC, just because it has a better games library, like Resident Evil and Zelda.
 
PS3 is a bit away and it would seriously wont make sense to get PS2 at that time.

And about game titles. its the studios that are linked to perticular company.
PS2 got SA, Xbox got Halo2 early.

There are many good games for both consoles. Titles like burnout 3 are available for both.

It finally boils down to personal choice. I like xbox. My friend likes PS2. I go to his house sometimes to play on PS2. He comes to my home to play on xbox.
And ya there is a lot of difference in eye candy on xbox. Both consoles now cannot compare against PC but PS2 is really showing its age.
 
There are two controllers.
The one i have is S type.
Works perfect for me. I use it now mostly to play PC simulation games like FS2004.
Works really well for me.

finally decided to get ps2 ...costs 8k here...

and i checked most most of the dealers counn`t find any xbox games ......
 
^^ plz ask ur guy wht mod chip he's using on ur new ps2 slim.
if hes using a aladdin chip or the mars chip....expect ur ps2 slim to have a fried lens after a week. ask him to put the m7 chip, thts the only chip tht supports the v12 model or the slim ps2..i got mine modded for 1400 inc. the labour n shit.

another thing

the guy from whom i am buying hasn`t any mod chip avaliable with right now .he says that he will get them from delhi within a week meanwhile i should buy it and then when the chip gets here he will mod it ..... MOD EDIT:Removed Text whiout the mod chip or should i wait until he gets the chip.....

well well well!!! :D

the MOD chip is a hardware MOD and little or nothing to do with software.

even a MODchip company won a court case filed by microsoft for using modchips on XBOX.
technically MODchips are legal :p. ........... strange but TRUE
