Require a New PS2 with 8 MB memory card and 2 controllers
should be able to use open market game CD,s
How much ? & where to get in Delhi or preferably in Chandigarh
Need immediately for a birthday gift
 
A week back, a friend purchased 1 modded PS2+10 Game DVDs+1 8mb card for 6k at Palika Bazaar, Delhi.

Same specs required in Mumbai. Where to buy from and at what price?

Also, is an 8 MB memory card the bare necessity? And what type of memory card goes in a PS2 (i.e. SD/CF/MS?)

Lamington Road

PS2 uses its own proprietary card and the card is required for saving games.8mb is enough for most users.

Thanks for the info. I know it can be purchased at LR, but I need specific shop names to go to - you know the trustworthy ones and not the fly by night operators.

I already have had a very bad experience with Prime AGBG so would only like genuine customer friendly shops.
 
Please Stay away from Palika, get an original PS2 from Sony world and get it modded to run the *ahem* games

At 6k from Palika what you would get is cheap quality cables (Indian Made) and zero accessories (Demo Cd/Manuals/Etc) and fake controllers

P.S- modding off course will be done in Palika but get the original set from Sony world or something

I had brought one from LR.

Cant remember the shop name but its prior to cassette world.Shop jst before the lane.

Cassette world---- Narrow Lane------Shop(which I am talking abt)
 
Another option for Mumbai guys is...Indraprasth shopping center in Borivali(west) near station.

As soon as u enter the mall from main entry point, on right there is a staircase, go to first floor and the first shop on right named DO-BUY. You can get it from here.

Thanks for the good advice- i guess it is Sony World for PS2 and Palika for Mod and card and games DVD,s. I wonder if the price reduction promised on 1st April by Sony is implemened in India!

its very much under 800 or so . . .

they just add a chip so u can play any game (NTSE PAL)
+ the best part u can download games (.iso files) from net burn them on a DVD
and play away ;)
 
Yes ONLY buy original Ps2, then get it modded. I telling you this from my own experience.

My 2001 Ps2 is still in top condition & running. It was bought from Uk & modded in Palika. Around the same time a friend of mine bought Ps2 directly from Palika. It was premodded. That model gave him so much pain.
