Me & my friggin' bad luck

My PS2 had been gathering dust int he closet for the last 2 years +
Since am already in love with Guitar Hero on the wii, I picked up singstar bollywood (vaguely similar genre) for the PS2 for 1.5K today

Took out the PS2 , hooked it up, the console seemd to be working well with the backed up Tekken DVD that was still on the drive

Before I could swap the disc, there was a power cut

And When the power came back, the PS2 shows no Video output
The disc spins, everything else seems fine, but there is no Video :(

talk of bad luck

What could be wrong?
Any poing trying to fix it/ get it fixed up or is it just a worthless piece of plastic now?

Try this :

1) start up your ps2 (with no game in it)

2) press Down once, then X to enter the system config

3) press Down three more times, then X again

4) press Left once, then X again

There is absolutely no video output

Can't do what you said above, but tried it nevertheless ...no go

I'd have dumped the damed console but for the new game (genuine) I just got

Any places in Chennai to get it fixed up? or should i just get a new one?

I have two PS2 with the same issue, and i was quoted 2.5k odd for the first one. So i just added some cash and bought a 2nd one which went kaput after 6-7 months. So i tried repairing it on my own. I would suggest you cehck the fuses according to your PS2 motherboard Version. Also check the LA6508 its just next to the tray controller connector if you have a Fat PS2.......

And yeah my both PS2 are still dead as didn't got time to repair it.........

umm, the device powers up so I dont think it's blown fuses

everything seems to work fine other than tghe video (e.g. disc spins up, stabilizes after seeking/the Wireless controllers connect to the system as expected)

Just the AV output seems to have gone bust

Anyway, I guess I'l dump it for repairs at my neighborhood electronic store and let him bother with the headache of sending it to the repair guys in Ritchie

Unplug the av cable from the ps2 and tv and plug it in again and try

check with a different AV cable or with a different tv
