I had similar problem and it solved by the solution provided in that thread.. but still I can't figure out how to get ps3 to play DVD's in 1080p.
is there any type of converter or adapter which can disable hdcp or something which could make ps3 play DVDs at 1080p ? its irritating to switch ps3 to 720p everytime I have to watch a DVD
