Who wants some downgrading action ? :D

Here you go.... downgrade hex for the first batch of chips ie AT90USB162

Steps :

Prepare: Download the downgrade files, an USB driver large to storage the upgrade files.

Step 1: Please update your Chip with downgrade firmware.

Step 2: Plug the "downgrade" Chip to the right port (close the Blue-Ray Driver), Power down the connsole and cut of the power. Re-connect power to the console, Press power on button , press the "EJECT" button in 200ms atfter power on button was pressed. Untill finished your downgrade , you don't need cut off the power angin.

Step 3: The screen to the console will flash servral time and auto-turn-off, you can remove the Chip now (You console now ready to enter "Factory Mode" now)

Step 4: Prepare an USB driver and formate it as FAT32 file system, copy two files to the USB driver: Lv2diag.self and PS3UPDAT.PUP, and place them under the root path. the the named "Lv2diag.self" should copy from the "Lv2diag.self FILE 1" folder.

Step 5: Plug the USB driver to the right USB port to the console, and remove any other USB driver from your console, press power on button to boot.

Step 6: Wait untill the console turn off again. Remove the USB driver from your console , and delete all the files, copy the "Lv2diag.self" from "Lv2diag.self FILE 2" folder to the USB driver's root path.

Step 7: Plug the USB driver to the right USB port to the console, and press power on button , It will leave "Factory Mode" now.

Last Step: After finished downgrade the console , you can update Chip back.

The downgrade procedure MAY leave your console unable to playback blu-ray movies (with / without JB)

Proceed with caution and obviously backup your dev_flash contents before any FW related procedure

and mate i still cant make my chip as detectable in my machine.. :S
 
Quick question , From where are you getting the hex ? Just in case you are not there we can get it directly from that location
 
What are the specs of your chip ? If its AT90USB 162 at 8Mhz ... basically Teensy , then you can use this hex file but the leds won't work.
 
^ Does compling means you add up something else ? if not we can pick it up from scene sites.
 
Dude.... pick it up from wherever you want. If you would have known what you needed , you would have already had it !!!! Seriously , atleast think before speaking.

Compiling = Taking the source code and then combining into one single file so that it works on your specific board !!!

What I did was take the PSGrade code , add the masterkey to the key file and compile for the board i gave you...

If you want to go searching the internet for the same thing that i am myself making and giving to you.. suit yourself.

Bty just a Query is the Master Key tied to a particular SDK Version?
 
In a way. With the version 3.55 FW released yesterday , Sony revoked access to lv2self so , with this masterkey even though we can enter factory / service mode, we can't install the modified PUP file.

It is still not clear but Sony can probably just come out with a 3.56 FW with new keys...

However what this DOES mean is that for the next month or two , any PS3 you buy can be downgraded to get into the Jailbreaking scene. Retail PS3s with 3.55 will probably not hit the market till mid Jan- Feb especially because Sony would have ramped up productions around October to meet the Holiday season demand.

Hence , lots of hackable systems in the market !

Just to be clear though... Do NOT upgrade to 3.55 because even though we can enter the factory mode , we can't install the modified firmware files.

Yeah, but the 3.50 games still aren't playable. If Sony keeps on pumping new firmware into their newer games, then it would be very difficult to keep pace with finding a workaround for each of them.
 
^^ Expect a 3.50 JB soon but in the meanwhile , you can switch between the two i guess.... this doesn't format your drive. Only the Time/Date settings are reset.
 
I know. graf_chokolo's progress on decrypting is going pretty good. Although, we still don't have any visual confirmation of the games working for it.
