It's a sad day today...being a PS3 fan,Wtf is happening!!!

"We've learned that Take-Two [Interactive] and Rockstar Games were interested in continuing their longtime relationship with Sony, in which they premiered their Grand Theft Auto games on PlayStation platforms exclusively for 6-12 months before bringing them to other systems," wrote Croal. "Also, Ubisoft was interested in making Assassin's Creed, due in stores next spring, exclusive to the PS3."

So what happened? According to Croal, "For the greater part of this year, PlayStation chief Ken Kutaragi hadn't finalized the business terms for independent publishers on the PS3," wrote Croal. "[But] PlayStation's Japanese headquarters was effectively radio silent, and without Kutaragi's signoff, the normally independent American and European branches had no authority to reach agreements on the exclusives they believed could be valuable to the PS3 cause."

According to Newsweek, while Sony played the waiting game, Microsoft contacted both Take-Two and Ubisoft and offered them very generous terms to bring Assassin's Creed and Grand Theft Auto IV to the Xbox 360. Croal cites an unnamed source at one of the companies as saying, "I do have to give Microsoft a lot of credit for going after titles and doing whatever they can to generate third-party support. They've been magnificent in this generation."

Report: Sony dallying cost PS3 exclusives - PlayStation 3 News at GameSpot

Great, just great..Now I am gonna lose the bet on which console is better between PS3 and 360 and the winner gets to play Halo 3..my bro will be bugging me with this for months..

WTF is Ken kutaragi doing???

Damn it! Assasins Creed would've been a big score on Ps3s side if only Kutaragi wasn't playing the lazy ass here.

Hope he learns from his mistakes. GTA 4 is no big deal, people would've waited for it even if it was timed, but Assasins Creed is a big loss.

whoppiee :P...............Sony deserves it all and the woes for PS3 have just begin......

Wow, Ps3 being criticised sure is bringing smiles on many faces here on TE. XD

Really, I wouldn't count on it lasting much long. Next time this year will be an entirely different time for the Ps3 (hopefuly). Mgs4 and FF13 are the two major games for Ps3's first year and these two alone should be able to raise it to a much greater heights.

Sony might be making better hardware, but it cannot match the business and marketing genius of M$, If sony continues to sleep on like this, M$ is gonna completely push it out of the market.

The main reason people were ready to buy XBOX's after they released is because M$ made sure that there are enough titles by either buying out game studios or making partnerships for the titles. M$ seems to be agressively attacking in this area to ensure it has more titles and more importantly exclusive titles.

Well if Sony has a threaded proccesor, 360 has a sorta threaded gpu. Yeah I would love to see Sony matching up with a 1+ yr lead of m$, and with North American success of Wii, Sony has a tough compt. in all markets other then japan, where ppl will yet claim a ps1 is better then X360...

I thought this was known for quite sometime now. Also, I blame this on Sony's inability to bribe devs into exclusives anymore.

A company with 40 billion dollars in cash reserves vs a company 10 billion dollars in debt... it doesn't look too rosy for sony does it? :P

Sony's management is nuts.... they don't seem to know how to put their foot down and demand results... of course that may be because they can't produce any themselves.

The Getaway

Even more...

Though their management wasn't always like this. They've now ruled the gaming market for a decade now, and we still don't know if this is only a little 'glitch in their system' or if they've actually lost it. time will tell.
