so my wife is getting me a ps3 ..just a couple of queries

is the ps3 60gb available at alfa? how much ...do they play ahem ps2 games :D
 
yes it should be @ alfa. last i heard the 60gb was around 20-21k. i might be wrong as i am not 100% sure.

also about ahem ps2 games there are some posts online saying that the tif exploit works but i havent got a chance to try myself.
 
Get the PAL version.. As far as PS3 games are concerned, they are region free.

The movie playback is not region free. So if you want to play DVD's bought in India, you will need PAL PS3. As for Blue Ray some of them are region free while some are locked, But anyways, the blue ray Movies are not available in India, and even outside they are quite costly.

If you are not concerned about DVD Playback, then go ahead and get the NTSC version.

Incorrect. My local DVD library has some, and even the local Planet M does. I picked up Spiderman 3 and Master & Commander. 3k combined.
 
Saw bluray movies at musicworld in saket delhi, for around 1000-1500.

Also, bluray is killing hd dvd here in the US finally. All the stores I've been in so far, including this one at heathrow airport, bluray's shelf space is eating up HD DVD's. Good thing Bluray movies has a lot less regions for restrictions (only 3).

lol, thats right. Infact region coding was one of the criticisms against the Blue-Ray medium (for HD-Movies).

btw, good to hear that BD Movies are becoming available in India. But are they just imported regionless ones or made for this region?

Which area are you from funky? & what's the cost of these Blu-Ray titles? Are they for rent as well?
