Yeah, I can't tell you enough how much I want to be playing QuakeIII with dual analog controls.

Still, If they can get PC games(even if classic ones) running smoothly on this thing which I highly doubt, it will be quite an achivement.

It isn't that much of an achievement - QEMU is a simulator after all.

And the Linux guys will be all over this in no time, fixing lack of Cell support etc. The real achievement is the FC5, because that was done without Sony's support.

Wow, now that seems like some good news. a 600$ computer is not a bad idea after all... ;)
Seriously but if the cell processing power can be untapped then it would be an awesome feat.

What's the big deal ??Any 7-8 yr. old computer can do that. Let it run gam,es like crysis or flight simulator x. Then will be pretty damn impressed!!

it is a big deal cause those games were not coded for the ps1 ps2 or ps3.

KingKrool is right which explains the old games being tested as they're the only kind of games that will run smoothly using an emulator.

The overhead of x86 to PPC translation is always going to be huge. Get that straight in your head. So there is always a limit to how fast this can ever be. Still, there probably is scope for improvement, I guess the situation will improve a bit. But don't think you are ever going to be able to run Doom3, that is asking too much. The kind of simulation QEMU does implies a 20-50 times slowdown on cross simulation. And that is without any fancy 3d stuff.

QEMU way aint the best method but if u have no options then thats the only way.

I was like wow when i heard PS3 running WInXP and now i found that it was

using QEMU.
