PS5 or Asus Rog Ally

Hi Everyone,

I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I already own a decent PC, but I’m now considering getting either a PS5 or an ASUS ROG Ally, mainly for the kids and my brother-in-law, who also uses the PC. I would occasionally play it.

The games we’re mostly interested in are Minecraft, racing games, Metro, Call of Duty, Apex Legends, FIFA and a few kid-friendly titles.

Would love to hear your insights on what would be the better buy!

Both are different because of ps5 is for like pc, ps5 is not flexible like pc...but rog ally is like mobile, it is flexible...and full windows experience...and other side performance and quality Good is ps5 but battery Headache in Asus ally

Thanks! I do agree that both are entirely different. For now, I just want to settle on one, and maybe in the coming months, I can look into getting both. But at this stage, I’m aiming to go with just one of the two.

Also, I forgot to mention, whichever I choose, it’ll be for long-term use.

You can just dock the ally and use it like a ps5 (Yeah the performance may not be the same, but the possibility of playing on the big screen is there), just need to buy a controller, while you cant use the ps5 as a handheld. I think the bigger question is your usecase. Do u wish to play on a single display? Or do you wish to have the portability? If u travel a lot, ally can be really good choice. Either way prime day and all are coming up, do keep an eye on deals for both devices.

Sadly I do not travel neither do the family. So to say it's just gonna be a secondary gaming station sort of. But as I said earlier I just want to buy one for now and might have plans to buy the other in the coming months and can't decide which one for now.

If stay in one place just like pc then and if you play only game not other work ( like made work on windows application) then go for play station 5, or if you both play game and windows work then go for rog ally
Tip. If you go for play station then go for play station 5 slim or play station 5 pro
