Am posting this because Tally Solutions is not widely publicizing this nor are their partners doing so (mostly they are sleeping, at least ours was till this got bumped up to me and I spoke to Tally Solutions)
Last year Tally Solutions had made it mandatory for getting TVU licenses but due to COVID it was delayed to April 1st and finally got implemented on May 1st.
If you are using any RDP technologies for accessing the Tally Gold server, then it you would be requiring a TVU for each user. Frankly, it is a money grab from Tally.
Each Silver license included a single TVU, while each Gold license came with 10 TVUs. If you had the server then it came with 50 TVU.
Additionally, they had also allowed to surrender any existing licenses for the same amount of TVUs to be attached to another serial. Earlier this was only valid for a single year for Tally ERP9 and lifetime for TallyPrime, but now its valid for lifetime for both Tally ERP9 and TallyPrime. Lifetime here means for the lifetime of the product, not infinitely.
Additionally, if you are opening more than one Tally ERP9 window on RDP, then it would count as more than one TVU user, while on TallyPrime it would not. This is important if you need to compare 2 different datasets using Tally.
