Hi , I never used PSP,PS or any gaming devices before, So just now got a PSP 3004 from ma friend, heard tht its not permanently hackable , is it so? any good tutorials to hack it permanently or temp, pls guide...The version of firmware is 5.03

Yes it can be hacked but its not a permanent hack, you have to run the hack again if you completely turn off the PSP (not required if you just keep on standby).

Follow this guide, it might be outdated but it should be enough I guess.

IMO you'll need to first get it into ChickHEN mode (the hard part) ... then run 5.03 GEN-C cfw ... then Prometheus2 mod. Once this is done, you should be good to go.

After this,
get the new signed 5.03 HEN and whenever you need to enter CFW you can do it via the PSP Menu. It'll save you the trouble of chickHEN mode and directly jump you to your installed CFW.

eh? OMG ... dude that must be the fragile flash0 partition of the PSP. Get out of there fast. If you touch a single file there, you can risk bricking your PSP permanently!

I'm so sorry I didn't see this thread earlier. I'm guessing that your PSP is definetly bricked now. I hope you have warranty, get it replaced for a new PSP asap.

I bought it second hand... :-( . . Can't I get repaired from sony?

Are you cent percent sure you do not have the bill and cannot claim warranty?

These semi hackable PSPs cannot be software repaired as the older PSPs were exploited because of the Recovery Mode. Firstly, try giving it to a professional PSP repair man in your area and see what he says. If he can't do anything, try handing it in for repair to Sony but most probably they will say it is dead and offer you a 30% ~ 50% discount in buying a new PSP.

stupid stupid... dont understand, why ppl can manage money for a gadget, but not for a game.

my idiotly rich friend buys 80k Dell XPS(noob, should hav asked me, I would have got him double the specs at same price), but wont buy a single game. He has 4MBPS broadband, so torrents at blazing speed all the time(of course he's on airtel, so FUP FTW)

Anyone here knows any expert guys who can unbrick ma psp?

As I said above... you cannot repair it. Sony was THAT serious about piracy that they killed recovery mode of all newer PSPs. In short its well and truly dead, but it would be good if you confirmed it with a PSP repairing professional. Show it to Sony as your last resort ...

Take it to Sony as a last resort as they will surely not fix it, rather they will offer you a 30% ~ 50% discount on another PSP. If you had warranty, they would've taken that dead one in and handed you a brand new PSP as replacement....

Considering its practically dead... I guess not. Unless they take out the memory stick, put it in a card reader/other PSP and go through its files.

better to delete those hack files in memory stick before giving to them rite?

I guess so yeah. It would be a good idea to do that .... Don't know how much it would help but.
