Sony may have officially changed its mind about a PSP 2, but the company seems to have decided a price drop is in order. According to GameStop and EB Games promotional materials sent to Joystiq, the PSP Core System will be available at a discounted $30 price tag from $199.99 to $169.99, effective Tuesday, April 3. Sony hopes to give the PSP handheld a boost in its losing battle to the Nintendo DS in the portable gaming market with the price drop, free Wi-Fi available at public locations and with PS3 connectivity.

PSP price drop: Core pack down to $169.99 tomorrow - Joystiq

I have already got it for 8k...it was a steal cos i bought it second hand...5-6 months used....its playin smooth...no issues...

I got the value pack )with ATV offroaud fury and Lords Of The Dogtown UMD movie) for 199$ (8,521.18 INR). My dad brought it from the US and he had to pay no duty :P

The other one I bought for Rs.10K.

Gr8 deal :hap2:

But what I think is that they should drop the price of UMD games....PSP sale would surely increase after that....1.5k is still to expensive....

damn i read this news a few minutes ago. now i'm wondering...

how long before this change gets reflected in the grey market?

Wonder if Sony India would drop the price of it's official PSP by 1K+ ...

That would take down the core pack to 11K, I think.

unlikely : i asked yesterday at sony world. core was 14k, value was 20k. no chance they would drop the price by that muc, even if a price change occurred.

my money is on them skipping it altogether.

Its crazy getting anything from Sony World. If they're selling the GTA SA Hits pack which sells for 19.99$ in US for Rs.3000 in India, they've made their point that everything in the shop is for show - only.
