hi,
i am thinking of buying a pmp this summer but the sony psp(a great value for money) is confusing me.

can anybody please quote prices(delhi) of:
ipod 80/60 gb
psp
cowon a3 30/60 gb

the only really deciding factor is the gaming part. If you want gaming+multimedia with less battery time, go for the PSP. Otherwise if gaming is not on your mind, get an ipod.

Its pretty simple.

Priortize what you want.

If you're a gaming freak, nothing beats the new Sony PSP Slim n lite.

On the other hand, if music is ur thing get a iPod touch 16 or 32 GB.

Its got a flash memory( better than HDD based iPods) and amazingly big screen along with superb Wifi Capabilites.

forget the ipod 80/60 gb.Screen quality isn't any good. If you want a device primarily for watching movies then get an ipod touch or the cowon a3.Also note that 8gb capacity is not enough to store your music, moives and games.

if u want to listen to music dont get psp , the speakers suck and headphone volume is low , otherwise the psp is good for gaming and videos coz of big screen . i had ipod and sold it to get psp coz ipod is boring and screen is small and i use N95 8GB for music now .

If you want gaming + movies on a decent sized screen, go for the PSP.

If you want good music + movie playback, go for the COWON PMP's like the D2, A3 etc depending on your space requirements and budget.

If you want a music player with avg to decent quality music playback, lots of space for music, good flaunt value, but at an exorbent pricing for the features offered, go for the iPod.

i used to have both an Archos 605 and PSP.

to cut a long story short, i sold off the Archos and stuck to my PSP for movies. the screen is great, and battery life is surprisingly good (easily 4-5hrs of movie playback). plus i can play games whenever i get bored of watching videos.

the only con is that it does not play divx (yet) and will need to use a conversion program to recode my videos into mp4 format. but word has it that the upcoming 4.0 firmware will have native support for Divx (just like the PS3).

and of course, if you're the type who wants to store all your data on it, then the limited storage of the PSP may be a dealbreaker. i use a 8Gb mem stick which i find is sufficient for me, since i regularly delete off videos i've watched and add new ones.
