PC Peripherals PSU Burnt, Suggest Me a New PSU

Initially while getting my system assembled 2 n half years back, I went for UMAX nPower 650 Watt PSU (as budget was exceeding my set limits);
I know it was a bad component to compromise upon, but whats done is done.

As of now, my PSU has gone dead (a computer mechanic tested it by running it using another PSU), so I need to buy a new one;
And I am thinking to buy a good one this time.

My system config is quite visible from my signature, however to make it more visible my system is a gaming rig with
Asus P5WH Deluxe Mobo, Intel Quad Core Proccy, XFX 8800 GT AlphaDog Edition(512 MB DDR), Corsari 4 GB 1033 MHz RAM, 2 HDD, 1 DVD RW, Zebronics B2 Cabinet
I have no idea about these Gaming PSU except that CM and Corsair are good in these,
My price range is 3K to 4K.

Please be fast and precise as I need to buy it tomorrow after I come from office after 2 PM;
I will be buying it from Richie Street, Chennai.

Looking forward to your suggestion,
Regards!!

PS: I hope no ther componet has died off./

First off who the heck is that chick on your Avatar !!

Sorry to answer your query as the second thing . Settle off with a VX 450 . And visit DeltaPherephrals from Ritchie Street.

Haha, she is Koena Mitra (Bolywood Actress / Model)

Hmm VX 450 is Corsair made right, may I know it price please for the reference;

also for my configuration PSU of what watt would be good enough?? (I know Corsair is pretty solid in terms its rating unlike other companies)

Thankyou Avinash for that price qoute!!

Well can somebody tell me, selection of which brand i.e. CM or Corsair whill be a betteroff choice.
I know this largely depends upon the model we select, so keep it restricted my range of 3.5k to 4.5k

Regadrs!!

I think if you can bargain a lil to your dealer he could give you Corsair VX550W for 4.7 ! But as far as i know CM GX550W is good enough at dat price bracket ! I got it for 4.2 k ! Ur willing to spend additional 500 bucks go ahead but i do not feel the worth of it coz many reviews recommend you corsair just because the testing done by HW gurus are at extreme conditions and difference in performance is marginal and i hope ur HW does not require such conditions !

Thankyou so much avinash for the that link to findoff my PSU Watt requirment./
I got the following result:-

Minimum PSU Wattage: 299 W Recommended PSU Wattage: 349 Watt
(I took the screenshot but cant post it now, as all the imagehosting seems to be blocked here :()

Now that I am clear with what I need, I presume its of no use to spend those Rs. 700 or 1200 (in case of corsair) for that matter
inorder to buy a 550 Watt PSU./

Considering any upgrade, max I will go for DDR3 RAMs and More HDDs in there (as the proccy and GraphicsCard Gonna stay there for some time)
I presume even if I go for a high end Graphics Card such as nVidia G3 or G4 Series (that wont happen for atleast 1 year for now), its not a good idea to go ahead an buy a PSU Compatible to that atm./

Anyways thanks guys, Corsair VX 450 seems to be the most appropriate choice atm.
Will get back to you, after I buy it ;)

How soon could you be upgrading your configuration?

A Corsair CX400 is sufficient for your needs, costs about ~2.6k, but since you have a higher budget than that you could settle for Corsair VX450W for ~3.5k (better to buy VX450 as when you upgrade you config, you wont have to think about a PSU upgrade as well + It has 5 years of warranty)

A VX450 will serve you well, The newer GPU series will get more and more power efficient I hope and as it is, a VX450 is sufficient for a GPU like 5850 + quad core (No/Mild overclocking)

@ Mephistopheles Yes VX 450 W would definately do ! But considering future , in regards with Radeon 6000 series or future GPUs i think its worth settling down with a 550W to be on d safer side !

Not at all! Newer GPUs will be more power efficient and so will consume lesser energy as compared to current gen cards! 550W is extreme overkill for the OP!

Yay bought Corsair VX450 for Rs. 3700 and guess bought my Stock CPU fan was giving me a lot of trouble after one of the holder`s(white one) teeth broke so I bought Coolermater Hyper TX3 for Rs. 1300 (I love those new towers over my CPU)

I will post in the pics soon, so keep looking for this thread ;)

Thanks so much hash for Suggesting the shop Delta Pheripherals, they are really good and they have awesome collection (repped you)
