Hi guys, my computer's been acting weird this past month - it hasn't been booting up consistently, and when I tried turning it on today, nothing much happens. Symptoms as follows:
Some info: The PSU, Mobo and CPU are over four years old, from my original build, and the current heavy overclock has been running for... maybe, two years. Rest all components got upgraded after original purchase.
Current Setup
PSU: Antec True Power II 480W
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3
CPU: Intel E6300 1.86 OC-ed to @ 3.15 Ghz (450x7) (1.3875V)
GPU: GTX 260 (C192) OC-ed to 710/1200/1420
Thing is, I don't wanna scrap this system. I can still play most current games on it just fine. When I bought the GTX260, I researched some (and asked here) whether the TP2 would cut it, and it seemed fine to everyone. But now it seems like age has killed it.
What to do? Replace just the PSU with something that'll do? :-/ Any suggestions?
- GPU fan runs at max speed, with CPU fan OFF for a couple of seconds before display initialization (and boots up)
- GPU fan speed oscillates between max and low for a while with CPU fan OFF for a couple of seconds before display init (and boot)
- GPU fan runs at low speed, CPU fan OFF, continuous - no boot however long I wait. I also noticed that the CPU fan's (CNPS9500) LED light's intensity seems to go up and down every second.
