What is your budget & existing gpu?,if you want to choose between these two then i would suggest you to go for seasonic s12ii 520w for it's performance and 87% of efficiency. You will get a detailed explanation within this review.

Another thing is that xfx core 550w psu has unusual +12V regulation that goes up when the PSU is taxed and another thing is that xfx has a bad reputation for A.S.S which is handled by rashi,so get seasonic s12ii 520w because it's better.:)

XFX Core Edition 550W Review

Seasonic S12 II Bronze 520W Review

Seasonic S12II 520's 12v rail is rock solid on all loads... Whereas XFX core editions 550's 12v rail drops at full loads. Seasonic maintains above 80% efficiency in no load as well as all loads.... XFX's drops below 80% in many scenarios...

The following links would clear your doubt

Seasonic S12 II Bronze 520W Review
If I were you I would have gone for Seasonic 520 at 3.5K without any doubt. Only thing is that XFX core edition 550 has 44a on 12v rail whereas seasonic 520 has got 40a (20+20)... It means XFX one can deliver more power on 12v rail than seasonic. (approx difference 40w on 12v rail).. If you want that 40w extra, then you may go for XFX core edition.

My CPU is an Intel i5-750 , Motherboard is Intel Extreme series DP55KG and My GFX card is an ATI 4890 which is soon going to be upgraded to ATI HD 6870

I was initially leaning on towards the Seasonic S12 II Bronze 520W.

Seems like a good choice? also the Seasonic Overkill for my GPU setup?

Just one word of caution, do not get the PSU from TheITDepot, read the thread below, better else buy from overclockers zone on eBay they are the official dealers of Seasonic products, got mine from them only

ITDepot Fiasco-TE

Overclockers Zone is tirupati's own shop.

Doesn't make a difference buying from them if they're still going to deny warranty.

I know tirupati and overclockers zone are same, but at least the PSU doesn't get damaged in shipping and we know the ITDepot is also part of the fiasco
