PUNE: Did Tata Upgrade All 256kbps to 384kbps?

My friend just told me he's getting constant 46KB/s compared to earlier 30kB/s, which matches a 384kbps line.. Mine hasn't changed yet to 384kbps it seems but maybe they're making the changes gradually..

On their site also when you select Pune, there no longer is a 256kbps unltd for 1000, its changed to 384kbps for 1000..:hap2:

Hope my speed changes soon :D

yes its the same thing for me here in bbay since almost the past 2 months. its close to 400kbps. i am using tata indicom adsl & not vsnl.

here is the reason why. tata charges rs.999 for the 256kbps. but they had reduced that price to rs.700. but when they reduced the price they did not reduce my price of my package but instead i started getting better speeds of close to 400kbps.

this is the explaination i can think of which makes sense. unless ofcourse someone who has taken a new tata 256k for 700rs & is still getting 400kbps then thats amazing.
 
Hmm..that must be it.. I hope my speeds change soon.. gonna call them up and check... btw can some mod move this to the broadband section? thanks.

Though the 384/512 prices have decreased, the prices for the "Quick power" plans have almost doubled with the no. of hours on each plan reduced substantially.. :(

PS: The price of the postpaid 1 mbps plan has been decreased by a whopping 1100 bucks!!!! The plan is still expensive though but cheaper at 2500/- per month :O

So no wires if I'm not mistaken. What all do you need for this setup Sunny ?? And charges ??
 
All you need? nothing :P

Cost? 6068/- for 7.5 months. no istallation charges, no deposit, no modem purchasing :P Its supposed to be 6months + 1.5 free

It was the last week of march, they gave out an offer 25% free on anything to meet certain targets :P
 
It is activated. I already applied to change my plan to 384kbps 1000/- pm and it will take effect from the day when my next billing period starts i.e 21st June.

Yes sir the plans r activated; WiMax isn't yet activated. I myself am gonna go for the 384 kbps plan.
 
avoid WiMax at any cost :|

my costs may be great, but very unreliable connection. always d/ces once in 30 mins.

Try to hold on to wired line as much as possible :)

Ah didn't know you were talking about WiMax.. as a general rule though, wired > wireless pretty much always when both are available.
 
It is 384Kb/s for me too! YAY!
