(q) How to check ping? (q)

Hi, I am playing to change my ISP, I will be shifting my broadband connection from Mtnl to some local cable wala internet
and I Will be most probably multilayer gaming on FIFA14.
So can somebody enlighten me on how to check ping and packet loss ( especially to fifa servers)?

BTW I am situated in Delhi

In windows you could use command prompt to check ping. If you want to check ping for google.com, you have to run this command

Code:

ping google.com

and if you know the ip address of the server you could use that instead of domain name. For Example 74.125.239.40 is one of the IP address in which google.com is hosted. Now you would have to run this command

Code:

ping 74.125.239.40

It would also show information about packet lost.

Any idea about the fifa 14 ip address of fifa servers? I don't own the game right now.

Fifa works on EA servers. Try pinging these ip addresses

Btw AFAIK anything below 200ms is good for lag free gaming, correct me if I am wrong

You will suffer from awful lag with a 200ms ping.
I think your ping needs to be under 50 for online gaming.

PING is essential only for Multi player gamers.If it is well within 100-200 then then it is good AFAIK. For simple DL PING is unnecessary.

You can play a very good fifa 14 multiplayer even on 200ms ping. In some games ping upto 250ms is also acceptable. And most of multiplayer gamers have ping around or above 100ms.Your opponent even with 50ms ping won't have that much benefit over you. But in games like CSGO or other FPS shooters he can have a very little benefit.
