I heard about this game from some other forum and checked it out. Have been playing it for some time and I think it's a great game.

Urban Terror is a free multiplayer first person shooter. Unlike old versions, it no longer requires Quake 3; anyone can download it and play for free. Urban Terror is available for windows, linux and macintosh, the current version is 4.1.

Urban Terror can best be described as a Hollywood tactical shooter; it is realism based to a certain extent (environments/weapons/player models), but also goes by the motto "fun over realism" (fast gameplay and lots of action). This combination of reality and action results in a very unique, enjoyable and addictive game.

played this even before it reached v1.0 and it has come a long way since then. however, i don't see how it's quake meets reality as it really has nothing to do with quake apart from mimicking certain modes like CTF (if it's still there).

it used to be fun back then (about 7 years ago?) until i discovered pub CS.
 
It's based on Quake III engine. It was a quake III mod prior to the version 4.1 release. Now it a standalone game and is freely available now.

@RiO: What is CPMA?

@ashr: I have tried CS too. But there are no doors for new gamers in it. You just die and die. Moreover, I think every one should try this game at least once before comparing it with any other game.

i have played UrT 4.0 and it rocked! The best thing i like abt this game is powersliding...it simply rocks!

there are not many servers though :(
 
Ya... but that true for all the games except CS. Still there are many servers with less than 200ms ping. And it's fun even with that ping.
