Quake Wars delayed until 2007
Those slavering at the chops in anticipation of an autumn release for id's latest FPS are in for a bit of a disappointment, as developer Splash Damage reckons the game is unlikely to appear this side of Christmas.
The news appeared on US website Gamespy, as part of a developer diary.
"The team here has given extraordinary effort towards completing the game this year," said Splash Damage owner and lead game designer, Paul "Locki" Wedgwood, who spoke to us earlier this year.
"Unfortunately, sometimes effort isn't all you need - sometimes you just need more time."
Exactly how much time is unknown at the moment, but Locki reckons the team are entering the beta stage of development, and will be putting all their efforts into testing and balancing the multiplayer game before confirming a release.
Enemy Territories: Quake Wars was originally pencilled in for a late 2006 release, but as it is, may not appear until some time into the next year. We'll keep you posted on its progress.
