Graphic Cards Query about 5850

i will game on 1900*xxx resolution when i get my 5850 [just going to finalize the deal]

the question i want to ask is will it make any difference pairing it with my 785chipset mobo. [HD4250 IGP] or it will be just GPU powered

my rig small discription

dell 22' LED
phenom 555BE [unlocked to quad @ stock]
Corsair HX750
4GB Corsair 1600MHz
Gigabyte 785chipset mobo
 
gpu will take over after you install on your mobo,onboard graphics won't matter once you add external gpu as your HD5850.Your pc will use 5850.
 
i cant wait for that long as i am on IGP since 2 month now and have been itching to play some titles

getting a used 5850 for 8.5k for 6~7 months so that 7 series get settled ... will be comparing between 6950 VS 7xxx or higher for my main upgrade
 
5850 for 8.5k is :|. Leave it man....Look at me i'm still on IGP. As you can't wait. Try a bit more search wait for a few days and see if any member is selling another good card at this price. :) Rest is obv. upto you.

U will have to wait for a long time as it will take some time for prices to reach stable point, u could end up waiting for another year.

i got a new LED monitor yesterday so was itching to play some graphic intense game ..... obviously not to mention IGP performance on full HD res. even on low settings

i had an option of 6950 1GB for 11.3k ... should i consider it?
 
Ask him to do Yoga, so that he will have the patience like you to wait till 7xxx series.. :P

YES you should go for a 6950 1gb for 11.3K.... Yes you should... Thats a better deal
 
i was waiting for 7 series for long and now when my dreams shattered [launch delayed] ... its high time to get a GPU as i am sick of playing good games on low settings [playing MOH on 800*600 with all settings low :angry:]

i was banking on price cut of 6950 when 7 series launches ..... hasnt been the case

lots of good games in lineup for next 2~3 months

P.S. may be i need to take some yoga lessons to calm down

much better deal

only thing is, by any chance HD7800 series gets launched this year itself, and performs phenomenally for a great price, you might regret your purchase.

BTW Guys i don't care even if the prices of 7K series will be high on launch i will buy it no matter what. Would even buy 7990 of i had to and if it fall's under 30-40k. I know i am patient but i am not Baba Ramdev that i will Keep doing Yoga for a year. :lol: :bleh:

thats the reason i am holding back on 6950 but looks like 5850 @ 8.2k is not worth it

No chance of that as TSMC is having a hard time harvesting enough silicon. Couple that with sufficient demand for the HD 6*** series, you can't release a new card series [not without facing a lot of flak that is].
