Security Software Query About Activation of KIS 2010

Hi friends, I had KIS 2009(3 Users) which I bought back in 2009 and then shared with my 2 friends as it is a 3 User Licence. But that time there was a option for downloading key file(for each user) from https://activation.kaspersky.com/ by providing the activation key.

But today I bought KIS 2010(As my licence for KIS 2009 expired) and activated my installation successfully from the installation process. But as I'll be sharing this I want to download the key file for each user and pass it. But this time the problem is when I'm registering the Activation Code here https://activation.kaspersky.com/ it say's "Dear Kaspersky Lab Home products customer, the service does not support home products activation anymore. In order to receive a key file for a purchased home product, please, contact Kaspersky Lab Technical Support in your region. Thank you." Don't know what to do.

Now I've some queries : 1. What will happen if any of us needs to re-install the KIS?? Can we do it?? How will we activate it then??

2. Do the re-installation be done in same OS?? If I format the PC and install some other OS and re-install it?? Or what will happen even if I format my PC and install the same OS again??
 
KIS 2010 does not support key file activation anymore.

It has to be done using the serial now.

And yes, you can reinstall, it wont cause any problems, and even in case where you run into any issues, contact customer support via email, they are very helpful at resolving any such problems.

You are wrong mate. You can still activate it using a key file. You should not be connected to the internet

1. Disconnect your internet

2. Open your Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 OR Kaspersky Anti Virus 2010 and click on “License Manager” button located at the bottom of Kaspersky screen.

3. Now click on “Activate New License” button from the given options.

4. Click on “Activate Commercial License” button

5. Enter your activation code and click on “Next” button.

6. As you are offline, you will get a "Activation Error: Server name not resolved"

7. Click Ok and you will now get the option to activate kaspersky using a key file. Browse to the key location.

I had a problem with kaspersky, their support staff is excellent. The following procedure obviously can be applied if you have also downloaded keys from the net.
