query about airtel double speed (CHENNAI)

to all the peeps who use airtel boradband in chennai
please answer my questions

1. which plan are you in now and are you really getting the promised double speed?

2.what is the fair usage policy on them ?

just wanted to know cuz iam spending 1299rs for gettin 1mbps at night only and it sucks so people who have the 1099 plan are you getting 1mbps all day long and also what is the fup on it
 
Original Plan: 256Kbps Unlimited - Rs.827 (All inc.)

Connection Speed: Around 512Kbps (Doubled as promised)

FUP: None previously

Can't complain. :) for now.
 
I am on the 1799 plan - full time 1 MBPS ...and was getting around 125 -135 KBps before the double speed and now getting around 290 KBps.

I think the fair usage limit is 100GB...have not seen my speed go down...btw I use only to download from seedbox ftp...no uploads.
 
the double speed is applicable only for plans that have single speed and not for ones that have variable speeds( night 1mbps morning 512) confirmed this with airtel cc a month or so back, I switched to 1699 1 mbps unlimited after that still not got the double speed but need to wait till end of june before that happens.
 
Location : Kanchipuram.

Plan : Rs 1699 1 mbps UL

Daily usage : 7-8 GB (Dl + Ul)

FUP : 100 GB

Still no double speed for me :( getting only 112-125 KB on torrents

Should i call them or what:huh:
 
what about people with 1099rs plan are they getting double speeds?

and i asked the cc about the fup on the 1099plan they said it is 10gb ??? is that true ??

when i was on that plan i did 70-80 GB/mo on download alone .FUP is not 10GB on 1099 plan i am sure:hap2:.

Double Speed Offer is applicable alll over India

Differenfial speed plan gets max speed as their unlimited speed

eg 256/512 will get 512kbps unlimited.

I am on Swift 1099 DTH Double Speed which gives me 1mbps unlimited all time.

I dont need to pay 100 bucks more for double speed being an airtel dth customer :eek:hyeah:

Airtel CC told 25GB FUP on it but its crap as i have downloaded over 100gb every month and my speed never decreased.
 
For 256UL plan the limit is 10GB after which speed is reduced from 512kbps to original 256kbps... Got this in mail this week.. I think its implemented all over India..

@ above whenever my speed goes back to 256 kbps i simply go in the router config and do a save and reboot and it is back to 512 every time :p
 
@ nemesis cmon we all know how frustrating this FUP is :( by the way I havent paid airtel a single penny for the past two months and when i call the CC they told me my number is selected for 100% discount. ( free internet i <3 airtel ):clap:

Yeah, same here. But why haven't they changed or made this info more public on their website?
Actually, I don't want that when I call CC, they tell me nothing like this exists because recently I had a conversation with their engineers about what plan will me the most appropriate for me, but he never mentioned anything about this.
