query about airtel double speed (CHENNAI)

You are talking about Swift 1099 which has no 1Mbps @ night.. Confirm beforehand about double speed on this plan...

Nope , I still haven't gotten mine. They said they're still automatically shift plans to double speed by the end of June.

I'm still stuck on 512 Kbps - 1099 Rs.

Yes, it's only after they announced the double speed offer :clap: Earlier it was 512kbps

Currently this is the speed at night :)

Is this the Rs. 1699 plan? I was offered (and accepted) double the speed for Rs. 100 more a few months ago and it's been consistently near 2 Mbps since then.

Yes that's the plan :) is this 100 bucks extra for 2 mbps plan still available:huh:.

Has anyone from Mumbai got their speed doubled? I have the Turbo 1299 plan and I am thinking of shifting to the 1099 plan so if it does get doubled then I have 1 MBPS for the full day instead of just at night as in 1299.

Btw what exactly are the terms of FUP. How much can you download per day before they half your speed?

I just called the Airtel Customer Care but they don't have any idea

I just called today and inquired about my speeds. By the month of June all the connections would be doubled and there is a catch.

The double speed free of cost will last only for 3 months and after that it will be back to its original plan speeds.

I guess Airtel is trying to provide the speed for free so that the customers are addicted to the speeds. This would make a lot of customers to upgrade their plans at a later point in time
 
If the double speed is only for three months its a piece of waste but temporarily we can enjoy fast speeds. I didn't get any confirmation thro sms or email but i saw double speeds from yesterday. Im from Anna Nagar West.

We can see mobile service charges coming down day by day, but never broad band prices.

USA = 6 mbps Unlimited = 35 USD = Rs.1600/- im paying the same money but getting six times low speeds for now after speed increase.
 
^ Why do we need to compare with the US? And since you compare, there are many places in the US which have 1Mbps for $30 and above, some even at $45. Isn't India cheaper?
