Query about sending mobile by courier

try bluedart, ive shipped 24" lcd monitors, and even passports with it, so it should be completely safe, wont be that expensive either, only thing is with the recent unfortunate events, you cant help but doubt if ur things would reach intact, if at all reach :(

I've shipped mobiles via DTDC couriers a few times - they charge Rs. 150 extra over the normal shipping charges and then the phone goes in open condition i.e. you don't have to seal or pack it - just put it in a box and write all that you've included on a declaration and hand it to them.

This method ensures there are no thefts/losses, as at every stage (whenever the package is handed over from one person to other) the package is checked to verify that all the contents are indeed present. Also the package is hand carried via air courier so its much safer.

Alternatively you can write something else on the declaration and they'll ship it - this way you'll save money but then if something goes missing (which happens quite very often with mobile phones) you'll have no options left.

I have sent a mobile once to hyderabad from Mumbai via BlueDart. I paid something around 300 bucks IIRC.

Bluedart will definitely do it .

Besides dtc guys rejects all electronics items/computer parts . I had to tell that the WD external drive is a show piece item ( black and shiny :P ) and extra wire makes bulb in it glow and they shipped it

Depends on the branch actually :P I ship stuff through one all the time, after showing it to them and packaging it there :)

pissed off now at this moment, my friend went to bluedart they r asking 3350 rupees for sending a cell fone with insurance and w/o insurance 2.5k..... ! ! ! !

Guys...Only BlueDart will accept Cellphones for Courier. U need to call BlueDart for pickup. Then u need to pack the phone & battery separately in front of BlueDart executive. Fill up a value declaration form. And ur phone will be shipped & delivered. U can also track it on web

Have you seen current air fares? :bleh: A trip to delhi and back cost me ~10k last month :(

If you have the time, 3-tier AC seems an option in that budget

I had sent a mobile to Arunachal Pradesh about one year ago through BlueDart w/o insurance - they charged me 995 bucks or something close to that (weak memory).

You send as non - document and they will charge you for 10kg. Call the Blue Dart Customer Care and verify this.

Also, DTDC will accept mobiles - but go to their branch office directly instead of the franchisee. And you will have to pack the phone in front them. But they dont have insurance and they will charge you around 200 bucks.

True- only blue dart ships mobiles. They charged me 400 bucks or something when i shipped a phone through them.
