Query about using MTNL 3G on BSNL in Pune

I wish to get MTNL 3G Mumbai sim card for using it dedicatedly in Pune over Bsnl network. I am more interested in the quarterly 9GB plan. I wish to know...

1. Can I get any MTNL sim from any exchange in Mumbai to be used for 3G? Or is there a special sim I need to ask for ?
2. After getting the sim, what first recharge I need to do to get things started ? Or I can straightway do a test 3G recharge so I can first test the connection at my place in Pune ?
3. Any minimum balance I need to keep in the sim card to keep 3G going on ?
4. I believe I can use MTNL 3G in Pune without incurring any roaming charges, right ?
5. I see there is this 9GB plan for some 1100 rupees(approx, don't know exact). I am interested in this. But say I consume my data before the 3 month period and I recharge for another 1100, the 3 month period starts again ?

3. 100 bucks every 6 months minimum
4. not sure. used it on edge and it worked at same rates.
5. not sure call 1503 on mtnl helpline. mind you there are a knowledgeable lot.
i had called in for few queries and their reply was prompt and to the point unlike loop and reliance noobs.

1. Any SIM these days will do.
2. Any recharge. But to be on the safe side get Rs 200 put into your balance so that even if the 3G takes time to get activated you are not taken for a ride by their per KB rates.
3. Rs. 100 at least once in 6 months. New regulations I guess.
4. If you have a dedicated 3G plan/pack then there would be no additional charges.
5. Yes, once you recharge with a fresh pack, your validity is also reset.
