Storage Solutions Query: Ide to sata converter.

I plan to assemble a pc for a my father.. it has a certain mobo (dont know the model. etc) which does not have a sata slot and i dont have a ide hdd.

i plan to get a ide to sata controller to connect the 80gb samsung sata hdd to that pc.can someone please suggest me what exactly should i be getting and how much would it cost?

i tried asking a few shops in my locality and they have quoted insane prices.
some quote ~300.. some quote ~600.

ive been getting very random quotes

some with 3 day testing warranty and some with 6 months warranty..
