Security Software Query on buying KIS11

Hi.
I'm planning to order a copy of KIS 2011 on ebay. I have a few doubts.

1) If i'm buying a 1 user license, will I be able to reinstall the program and still be able to activate it again?

2) What If I do a format?

3) Will it still work If I install it on another comp, even if its my own?

4) If I buy a 2010 License, will I be able to upgrade / use it on the 2011 version?

Aswers to your questions

1) One does not have to activate it online. You will get a file("filename.reg") from your ebay seller via email. All you have to do is Download KIS from the internet. DISCONNECT from the internet and click on "activate trial license". KIS will show a error window stating unable to connect to server. In that window there is an option to browse for a key file("filename.reg" which you can specify and your KIS gets activated.
(I have recently bought a 3 user licence from ebay and have installed it on my systems so dont worry..:bleh:. )

2) Does not matter if you format, simply install KIS, Diconnect from internet and do what is mentioned above. No issues whatsoever.

3) It will work on as many computers you install it on. However I doubt if u could update the databases online from all of them. Kaspersky servers maybe able detect multiple installation from hardware ID and key file combination(speculating)

4) Yes one can upgrade from Kaspersky 2010 to 2011 product free of cost as long as ones license is valid.

Regarding Q.3, as long as you have used your license key in only the number of computers it is actually allowed to, you are safe. Means, a single user license key should at any point of time be running only on one PC. SO if you use it on your laptop for 2 months, uninstall and format the laptop, and instead install the KIS and license in your desktop and continue using it on your desktop for the remaining 10 months, you should have no problems.

Yes

No problem if you use the Licence on same PC.

3) Will it still work If I install it on another comp, even if its my own?

No.

4) If I buy a 2010 License, will I be able to upgrade / use it on the 2011 version?

Yes.

Thanks for all the answers. Heres a problem. I installed the latest version of KIS11. I tried the activation procedure offline. (activate trial > error) But there isn't any Browse option as in the previous versions.

@JAK: Key file works only if you have one. Previously one could use the 20-character license code that you get on purchase, create an account at Kaspersky website, and download key files for the same license code, which one could use in case of format and reinstall. Since KIS 2010 version, this key file concept has been done away with. If you are getting a key file from the online vendor, it is fine. But if you only get a 20-character license code from the online vendor or from the box pack, you will have to activate your KIS suite online only.

I think one can still receive the keyfile from the this Link

Its always better to have a key file coz if one activates with the Activation Code there can be issues like.. suppose u have a SINGLE user license and u activate it today and 2morrow u have to format and re-install OS/KIS then u might not be able to activate it again with the same code as the CODE has already been used. Ofcourse u may have to send KIS support a few emails and then they might help u out or one cud download it from the above link....

So from a smart and sensible persons point of view "Always do offline activation using keyfile"
