Storage Solutions Query on new HDD

Hello,
I want to buy a new HDD Sata drive. Which one would be good and reliable? I want to choose from Western digital and hitachi (any other comp then let me know).
As every one on this forum is recommending western digital so I am a bit inclined towards WD. How is performance of blue or green drive of WD. Is performance of 640 GB WD good or I should opt for 500Gb? Will buy either 500 or 640. Please recommend a shop in Kolkata from where I can the HDD.

I would recommend WD as I use them myself and have no cause for complaint. The blue provides good performance while the green ones sacrifice some speed for power saving. Black ones are high performance and costly. Choose 500 or 640 depending on your capacity needs.

I'm not sure if he can get WD Black in 500 GB or 640 GB variants in India. I've seen their 1 TB model only on above sites. And they are costly compared to others.

Go with the WD Blue. They are fine for regular use.
