Query regarding HP notebook warranty

My Friend has a HP notebook PC g6 1240se bought from UAE on 13/10/11

The adapter/charger has stopped working and the laptop does not charge. The laptop charges fine when using a similar adpater. So the adapter has gone bad.

I wanted to know

1. If Warranty will be available in India?? if yes then where to contact them?

2. Is the adapter covered under the warranty?
 
1. HP india may not honour the warranty for a UAE product but still you can visit their service centre once.

2. Adapter is definitely covered under warranty but whether your laptop will be considered under warranty in india is the main question.
 
Is the adapter similar to the pic attached? Expecially the connector? 7.4mm x 5.0mm with a center pin?

If yes, 99% of the time the issue is with the connectors joint or the cord from the adapter to laptop is damaged. So you just need to replace the whole cord or just the tip. I was facing the same issue with mine and this did the trick.

see if your warranty says international warranty.. although, HP provides international warranty, many users have had bad experiences with it which only forces us to believe that the international warranty is more of a marketing gimmick.. all my friends who had their laptops bought from UAE with international warranty, had big time trouble claiming warranties in India.. surprisingly, all of them had problems either with their batteries or chargers..
 
you can claim international warranty only if the model sells in the country you are claiming warranty
