The headphones hpm-70 bundled with se are much better imo, se also have somewhat better sound/music quality, still u won't find much difference unless u listen carefully . I generaly prefer the in-ear headphones, simply cause they cut out the external noise, so u don't have to crank up the volume to the highest level to hear the music, so less strain on the eardrums. but they do feel a little uncomfortable after prolonged use

think the n91 has better hardware for music playback for sure, also got great headphones

Didn't find much difference between the shuffle that I had and my se handset.

Well the Se's provided adpater is really great..
But if u get Nokia's stereo adapter [the ones which are coming with the Music Edition N series] the sound is equal to the SE's walkman series...

I have been using the SE K750i for the past few months and its sound quality thro' headphones is simply superb! Speakar output sucks but that is not surprising. Thro' headphones the MEGABASS equalizer setting provides the best result. Sometimes I forget that I am listening to music on a phone and not a standalone MP3 player. FM radio sounds good too.

Last week I had the opportunity of using the N73 for a day. Its a good phone. Big display, great sound thro' stereo speakers etc. But when using the bundled earphones, even with the equalizer on BASS Booster, bass doesnt sound that great. Mid and high frequencies sound ok but the bass is a real downer. I was quite surprised by this. I was hoping to migrate to this phone after a few months, but now I dont think I will. Sound quality is very important to me as I listen to music a lot.

Nokia is going to introduce a music edition N73 but if the basic hardware is going to remain the same then I dont think even sound on that phone would differ much.

MEGABASS from Sony is their trumpcard. All phones that have MEGABASS sound good even with bundled earphones. Nokia has to come up with something that matches MEGABASS. I dont think just rebranding phones as music editions is going to work.

Even Sony, in its infinite wisdom hasnt given the MEGABASS option in K790i because it is branded Cybershot! Why would they want to cripple something that works well is beyond me!

btw.. has anyone tried replay gain of foobar.. for music stored in the se phones. or for that matter the n series... i tried it... music sounds better..dunno how better. but it sounds better and far better clarity too.

well k790 does not have megabass, but still you can manually adjust the equalizer to a level you are comfortable with . . so far the results are good in mine . . .

he he . . got one as soon as the price crashed . . it is around 18k with bill and 4% tax. n73 strangely has become 24k instead of 23 it was last month. as for the review, will do it as soon as possible. :-)

dunno how i missed the post
@ paraman - Its not the fault of the N73's hardware.. its actually cause of the bundled headphones that come along... use the Nokia Stereo adapter and ull notice a huge change in the sound output

What is the exact model number of the stereo adapter and what would be its approx price?
