Laptops Question about Custom Duty on Laptops

I am planning to get 2 laptops with me when coming back from the US. I will be carrying one of them back when I return to the US. I wanted to know if I will be charged anything for getting the other one.

Anybody has done this before?
 
depends on your port of entry

In Chennai, the custom folks wouldnt be bothered unless you are bringing back like a sack full of laptops...

Mumbai is the worst where the customs buggers may even decie to pester you for carrying one

Delhi falls somwwhere in between ..no idea abt Cal and other ports

anyway, there really is no reason to worry...in the remote case of anything going awry , keep a stack of $1 X 5-10 notes handy

anyways my bros done this before an they dint stop him before only deal was that one of his laptops (his own one..:)) was old an a little worn out.. so even when they saw 2 laptops he said he had taken one from india.. an they let him go..
 
else i believe you can carry one laptop as carry on luggage and one in ur baggage and its allowed most prob.

If they ask, tell them u took one along ;)

never put one laptop in check in bag...they will surely know that u are carrying 2 and ask for money. Best is to put both in one bag and toss the other empty bag in check in baggage

actually they wont..unless they stop you n open up ur stuff :P

cos at landing end they have no idea wat all stuff ur carrying in ur checked in baggage. n i meant in ur suitcase etc..not the bag separately. :D

But If Ur Gettin By Courier Ur Fukd By Customs
U Will B Payin Around 22-23% Of Laptop N Also U Pay Nother 150-200$ For Shippin So It Wil Cost U More Dan Laptop Available Here So If U Need A Laptop Which Is Not Availavle Here N U Want It Den Only Buy From Abroad!
