Question about PS2 Memory card.

Hi guys.
Recently bought a PS2 slim.

Want to buy a memory card for it...

How much saved games an 8MB memory card can hold.. and how much does it cost? Are there fakes also available in market?

Also if possible do let me know the price of 16MB card.

I live in Delhi, so i guess Palika is the best place to get the card from... what say? Any recommended shops?

You can store a decent amount of saves in 8mb. Some games, take up a whooping 1mb save. While the avg space a save takes is around 200-500kb. Imo, enough for a casual gamer.
Go ahead and get it from Palika Bazaar. Try your best to get it in the sealed box pack. I don't think memory cards are duplicated.
 
^^ err..its 500 buks here in mumbai.

anyways ur mem card will take on an avg 400k per game. some games like hitman blood money take around 2234k of mem.

so it depends how many saved games u have, all the new games these days do req some extra mem.
 
I Bought an Orignal 8mb memory card fm Palika @450 ! As far as the space is concerened , everything depends on the game ! many games Like MGS 3 take only 83kb of space while games like Fifa 2006 and Hitman blood money takes way over 2mb per profile ! But I Guess u will still be able to save around 10-15 games in a single memory card ! Also There r no official sony 16mb memory cards ( atleast not in palika ) available ! But the ones which r available costs around 1300-1500 bucks , so its better to have 2 seprate 8 mb memory cards then to have a single 16 mb card ! :)
 
also u get 32mb and 64mb cards from MAX. though they do work, lot of people have had problems with games like mgs3 re4 etc on these cards. also note tht these cards are not that expensive aswell, they come as cheap as 1k. but i wouldnt reccomend them. you dont want to lose a saved game esp when ur finishing a game.

Max mmc has shown a lot of errors while saving Re4 saves. Its best not get anywhere near that card. Like Bluff said having 2 different 8mb mmc's a much better option than going for a single 16mb one alone.
