Hi mods, I have a friend to whom I told about this forum and he was telling me he wants to post his phone for sale here. He's not a member here yet. Seeing as how he is going be a new member Im sure there will be poeple who will doubt the product so how do we go about doing it?

I did think about it but i was not sure if the mods would allow it or not that's why I have created the thread.

Lot of people sell things on behalf of their friends. I think there are a couple of such active sale threads right now also. If I wasn't so lazy, I would have linked them.

Many members sell stuff on behalf of others. As long as the item is in your possession and you follow all the rules of the Marketplace, it should be fine.

So no, the item is with him in Mumbai Do you think an escrow or something like that would work? Where the seller sends the payment to me and then once the device is receieved and the buyer gives the all okay then i can transfer the funds to my friend. @mods

You can create a thread on his behalf if you have the item in your possession, or else he has to go through the normal process of opening a thread here.

Edit: And if you are creating a thread, you should be taking all responsibilities, from putting up the thread properly to ensuring proper delivery of the item. You cannot simply redirect the buyer to your friend.

So can he open a new account here and immediately make a sale thread? I will tell him to do that if that is the case.

'Normal process' means he will need to level up to a Disciple.

To start a new FS thread you need at least to be a Disciple group member.

Registered members move from Recruit to the Disciple usergroup once they satisfy the following conditions.

1. Have been a member at TE for at least 1 month
2. Have posted at least 25 messages
