Question regarding lg optimus one..

I want to root my lg optimus one which I bought few days back in order to install some applications which require rooting. And since there has been rumors of gingerbread coming next month I want to know that if I root my phone now will I be able to officially update my phone to gingerbread or not ?
 
Rooting only will not affect the ability to upgrade officially to gb. However if you install custom rom /kernel then you will have to go back to a previous official lg official rom and then upgrade to gb.
