On average, new GTX260 with 216 SPs is around 5% faster than old GTX260 with 192 SPs. I doubt it will hurt HD 4870 much. Also new GTX260 is supposed to sell for around $50 more than standard GTX260.
And here is the 4870 is comparison. Though I would say that it does not really show 4870 in good light because all games used here - CoH, Crysis, PT Boats and Lost Planet - are heavily optimised for Nvidia cards.
