Got this from the INQ !

ATI IS ATTACKING Nvidia in every single market segment. So the red company has a master plan and wants to jeopardise Nvidia's ability to make some money in the value segment.

ATI actually plans to sandwich its Nvidia NV44A, Geforce 6200 AGP products with two cards. The first and much cheaper one is called Radeon 9550 priced at just $67, scoring just over 2300 in 3Dmark03. It's meant to sandwich Geforce 6200 AGP based on the NV44A, a card that will score about 2500 in 3Dmark03 but will cost $83.

This would make for a gr8 deal indeed.

Woah! Good news... I beleive ATI is still feeling that kick which nVIDIA gave them by releaseing 6800GT and 6600GT and taking them totally by surprise...

9600 Pro was/is retailing for 95$ not much a jump AFAIK. Basically not worth now for gaming a 6600 GT is a minimum now..

Agree completely. Moreover changes in US market take a long time to reflect on Indian prices esp. when it comes to video cards.
And when the 6200 AGP becomes common it will be THE CARD to get in the 5-7k range, coz it can be unlocked to a 6600(if based on nv43) or insanely overclocked(if based on NV44)-going straight from 300 to 550-600 on the core should be no problem.
