I think only ID and CRYTEK are the last bastions/bulwarks of PC game devs :D
 
If people like me were hoping to buy this game on PC, you can lie your hopes to rest. This game will not release in India (atleast in the subsidized pricing). No thanks to Bethesda who are only keen to release this game on the PS3 and the 360 in India, the same as BRINK.

Very disappointed.
 
OMG! Extremely epic gameplay videos. The areas are huge and so are the enemies. Weapon designs look very different. We can place a mini-turret and wield a boomerang style blade called wingscicks. Melee combat would have really helped, seeing how the smaller enemies just flock you in numbers. And is it just me or does anyone else feel the graphics look very UE3-ish? or may be it's the YouTube video quality. :ashamed:

Dude that is id's Tech 5 engine! This would blow away UE 3's arse to oblivion! :p
 
I know what engine it is, but check out those videos and tell me you couldn't notice a small amount of resemblance with UE3? But like I said, it could be the poor quality YouTube video effect and the actual game might look much sharper.
 
I'd definitely bank on id for the visual quality of the game. When Doom 3 and Quake 4 were launched, both the titles boasted of the best visuals at that era. And even brought the best systems with high-end GPUs to its knees.

I wouldn't be surprised if RAGE does the same too. Open-GL madness!
 
When Doom 3 and Quake 4 were launched, they were constructed for PC from ground up and later ported to consoles. This time Id goes Multi-Plat and footprints of certain console elements being present, shouldn't come as a surprise. I understand Tim Willits making a statement, assuring PC fans, that it will feel like a true PC game and not a console port, but that will only be witnessed once the game releases. :)
 
I read this on IGN^^, what was more appalling was some of the comments on this news item - People hating on iD and saying they would rather spend the same money on dark souls. Don't they know who/what iD is, or it could be perhaps the kids making all the fuss who actually dont know anything about iD and Carmack.
 
^ Kids these days. :| Don't know iD is the super-grandfather of all game developers.

I don't mind the little wait. Only 3 weeks. :)
 
RAGE will have 3 discs on the Xbox 360

The highly anticipated title, RAGE, will be coming to the Xbox 360 on 3 discs. Just the one of the PS3 thanks to the capacity of blu-ray discs.

Creative Director for RAGE, Tim Willits, just dropped this one:

“RAGE’s 3 discs are simply splitting up the single-player experience across 2 discs and then 1 disc for the Multiplayer.

Playstation fans get to enjoy a single disc.”
