Err Rahul, I dint say that this deal happened with you. So forget it.
I am just saying that hardware market is changing frequently everyday. Lets consider gfx cards. So much new cards coming out every year, all new gen cards with lot better specs than old gen cards. Life period for gfx cards is the shortest amongst all computer hardwares. But still most companies provide 3 years warranty.
Now, I buy a high end card with 3 years warranty, after 2 years and 8 months, the card dies, I go to the dealer and he says it is EOL, I wont get any replacement. So he adds some depreciation cost and offers me a new gen card. But why should I pay extra to get a replacement? The product is still under warranty. It is the companies fault that the product is EOL, not mine. Why should I bear the extra charge, the god damn depreciation cost? Thats not good at all. I have used the product for 2 years plus so what? I am supposed to use it to full extent, its my right. If you have not got the item in stock, its your duty to replace with something at same price range. Why should the buyer suffer?
With hardware market changing so frequently, we cannot get full warranty period for a single product because each product is EOL within 2-2.5 years.
I don't think of it that way , i cannot change the way you think so anyways i'll just forget about itm-jeri said:^^^
I am doing you a favor. Keep the credit note. I AM NOT ACCEPTING THAT CREDIT NOTE AS A SETTLEMENT

You can claim for warranty replacement .
You get the replaced item which is still worth 900 bucks today.
You tell the buyer you cannot source the item since it is out of stock.
And you sell the item for 900 to somebody else.
The earlier buyer gets 400 whereas you earn 500 profit out of it.
This is the conception the seller will get.
Care to correct me?
This is the biggest load of crap i've seen a dealer dish down a TE member's throat after lynx.m-jeri said:Hi All.
Unfortunately I bought a PL 30 from Rahul, TheITWares on Dec 13, 2011 for ~9XX/-. With 1 year warranty.. Happy camper with it for over 6 months. Used it extensively as its my ONLY earphone. And the fit with it is just great.
It conked off like 3 weeks ago. No misuse. Always use my stuff very well. Send it to Rahul 2 weeks back. waited one week for status. Today he told me to give my mobile for letting me know.
Now comes the newest RMA policy i have ever heard.
He doesnt have the product in stock anymore. So he will give me credit note for ~4XX/-. And thats the only option i have. He cannot replace that IEM with similar one or similar value. He says thats how RMA works for all distri's.
I said i bought i for 1 year warranty. And not selling to you. so u cant depreciate it. Either give a pl30 or replace with similar value one. He said no can do.
I said this is straightforward cheating. He said i can consider this as whatever i want. And i can do whatever i want.I said ok.
I am sure Rahul can vouch this is the EXACT conversation. No Masala Added.
I dont have any extensive RMA experience. I only RMA'ed Benq, Samsung, Dell, WD, Seagate, Belkin, MSI, Transcend, Logitech, Intel products. And i only had this EOL issue with samsung and they replaced that with a 1 GB RAM instead of 512MB i gave. no questions asked.
This is not a RANT thread against Rahul or ITWares. Coz I dont want to waste my time with people like that. IMO. So please no ITWares bashing. I lost a 1000 bucks item today. And i am not going to take the 400 bucks from him. He can keep that.Just wanted to know ALL are treated like this. I am not the only one.
Thanks for reading this.
Dont claim "thats how its done" you can keep your stupid practices to your shop customers sir, either you replace his product or give him a cash back with the same amount. Other wise this is a straight forward scam.TheITWares said:^^ Yes that's exactly how its done you used the Earphone for 7 Months so how am i liable to pay you the full amount i know your not selling it to us but the same cannot be replaced and that's the reason why customers are issued credit notes in such cases, tatzy we offered you a Credit note. Just coz your not selling it back to us doesn't mean you have not used the same for 7 Months that will count for something right?
Probably something you should have thought before you started selling them, eh?TheITWares said:Ok so i will pay 400 to m.jeri then send it to China (International Shipment) as there is no service center in India then Import them back to India pay double duty double International freight and then do you think anything will remain for me?

Earlier when this thread was created I HAD NO INTENTION of telling bad stuff or even angry. Just wanted to let everyone know stuff like this happens.
But this guy's audacity in throwing that credit note in my face is making me more angry than i expect. There are certain things you can
control offline and online. But actions like this is not one of them.
I am not some chump who needs to have a 400 bucks of his charity to buy a new earphone. I can very well do that myself.
I dont want him to consider that, he sending me a credit note is making him the better person or doing the right thing. I believe i am being
cheated or being treated like a fool.
Correct me if i am wrong.
I guess this should be taken in mind by dealer while selling and promising warranty for such product. The customer is 100% right in this case...TheITWares said:Ok so i will pay 400 to m.jeri then send it to China (International Shipment) as there is no service center in India then Import them back to India pay double duty double International freight and then do you think anything will remain for me?

Coz that's is the warranty period on those earphones and he is getting warranty (Rs. 400/- CN) towards the samealekhkhanna said:Then why did you promise him a year's warranty in the 1st go itself ?

No keep it as the prize money for coming second in the Most Unethical Dealer contest. Maybe m-jeri will spend a few bucks and send you a crown that you can proudly wear at your shop too.TheITWares said:I am not throwing anything at you infact you are throwing the CN on me saying keep it and all , you think i will make a bunglow with your Rs. 400/- , I am not offering 400/- as charity thats your right take it if u don't want to use it your wish
