Ye Olde Systems Breaker

My Config in Sig below;
Have put a RAID 5 on new Seagate 418AS 500Gigs (Primeabgb)
Issue is :
Every few days (5-6 days) one of the RAID members comes up as degraded and the system goes for a rebuild of that drive.
Now this happens on one of two drives only, and the rest have no problem.
I suspect PSU is unable to take the system load, but I am looking for advice on other potential points.
My BIOS is the latest possible from ASUS.
Also, I suspected SATA Cables to be the issue so I got new ones from Bikey with Latches on both ends (& UV!!!) to be sure.
Any ideas anyone?
Feel free to comment as I have tried loads of things and may have missed out on something.

not sure if this can be done in a RAID 5 setup.....swap the power cable and the data cable (not sure if u can change the no. of the drive in RAID, since u would be changing the data cable) with another drive or to make it simpler just put another data cable, observe as the days progress....

Already done that, bought 6 new cables from Bikey with latches n rt angle.

Also changed the power connectors, split the drives among lines.

No help so far, still see occasional degrades.

Are you seeing the same disk going bad again & again or any disk goes bad ocassionally. When u see the degraded state during the bios could u try rebooting the machine or plugging the power off totally and plugging back after a minute or so... and then check if it shows degraded. Let me know the output.

also remove those two HDD's & check them in different machines.

i also had the same problem which was caused by drive failure but in my case it was RAID 0.

Already Tried.

Shows up as degraded.

By mistake, I 1nce switched on while drive was disconnected, and it came as failed, ofc.

i also had the same problem which was caused by drive failure but in my case it was RAID 0.

Tried, also ran seatools bootable cd on them, no errors reported, and SMART check was within parameters.
