Can anyone help me out with what type of RAM to buy? I'm looking to get 2G at 2dimms most thou since the board says it can hold 8G there must be some 2G ram sticks out there. anyone have any suggestions?

Hey...I think I know which ram to buy...:)

You said your looking toward buyin 2gb..
You should buy DDR400 x 2 or I think it should say DDR4000....
so yea....there you go...if you need more help....?

Just write back....:D

( you got a nice motherboard...by looking at your specs);)

Okay, thnx. Is there any specific company or does it not matter really?

For $160 it better be a nice board lol. Thnx for the compliment/advise thou :p There is another board the same as the one i just got up for sale on eBay so if anyone wants to get one just look up the name or ask me for the link. (I am not the seller thou so past the link i can't help you.)

Try to get 2 sticks of 1 GB each, same brand. It should say DDR 400, PC 3200 on it. What company you get depends on your budget mostly, but donot go in for generic unbranded Ram.

since you have a very good mobo, dont go cheap on the ram. try Corsair xms 2*1gb modules they are rated at 2-3-3-6 which is pretty good for 1gb modules. but dunno how they will pair up with your motherboard though.

just make sure you stick to good manufactures like pdp, geil, gskill, kingston etc. maybe our experts here can help you better

Hey thnx for the link and the names of those companies.

That corsair is compatible with sli tech so it should work fine.

What does the rating mean? 2-3-3-6 ??

Again thnx to all of you for the help.

Those are the timings. Without going into too much detail, remember this. Fastest and most expensive Ram is rated at timings are 2-2-2-5. Value Ram is generally rated at 3-3-3-8, so dont go for anything slower than that.
