Laptops RAM for Compaq V3424AU in Chennai?

I want to upgrade my RAM on my HP Compaq V3424AU...I have just 512 MB of RAM and running Vista(preloaded) on it is a real pain.....

What is the maximum memory I can install in my system?
Also where would memory be available for laptops in Chennai....I am new here so alll u guys in Chennai please help me out here ...

PS: If at all go for the maximum supported RAM configuration, will I have an option to exchange the RAM module of 512 MB already installed in the system for a new 1 Gb stick??
 
you'll be able to get laptop RAM all over ritchie street... i think DDR2 2*1 gig is avl for 1.9k odd.. try out places like Delta for de best rates

guys check out theitdepot.com, these guys are selling a 667Mhz 1 GB Stcik DDR2 for only1070 bux, shipping sixty bux extra!!!!, i got one abot 2months back for about 1800!!!:) and it works amazingly, i own a presario 3228au, pretty similar to your model except vista!!!!:D now i have 1.5GB ram the laps fast and can handle many more apps without freezing, was planing to update another gig but need o find someone to buy my 512MB HP sitck for a gud price!!!!!:bleh: :bleh:
p.s.- i guess itdepot is a chennai based site, so u could buy direct and save on shipping!!!!:D
 
man how cud I forget IT depot being in chennai... Thanks man.. The RAM stick is really cheap too...and the place i stay is also quite close to the showroom...

I just bought a 1GB (667Mhz)stick.....The charges are the same... The prices have been barcoded on to the products.... So there wasn't any difference between the prices on the website and the showroom...You just save on the shipping costs thats it...

So the 1GB RAM module came for Rs.1070...
