CPU/Mobo RAM query...pls help

Guys i want to buy Gskill ripjaws.......I have heard that for exceeding more than 3gb Ram, u need to install 64bit version of windows otherwise only 3gb works....is it true??

Are gskill ripjaws gud to buy and can it be paired with my corsair 2gb stick 1333mhz??
 
You can install 4GB or even more, but the 32-bit OS cannot use more than 3.2~3.4GB. Windows will work fine, but you ram will not be fully utilized That's a 32-bit limitation. So if you want to utilize the full 4GB or more, you will need a 64 bit OS.

Which model Ripjaws are you talking about? Put a link..
 
almost any companies ddr3 ram can be paired with any other companies ddr3 ram, though not advised. the rams will work at the speed of the slowest one. but try to match latency otherwise major problems may occur. thats why same companies rams are preferred as they have identical specs
 
When you match to different RAM sticks try to match the speed i.e. 1600 MHz and the latency settings i.e. the numbers that are written like 9-9-9-24 (this is CL9 latency) but it is not advised to pool two different brand RAM sticks.

As for your 64-bit query the answer is due to the limitations in coding of 32-bit software it can't support more than 3.25GB of RAM. More then 3gb ram on a 32bit OS? [Solved]

And yes x86 bit system can't use more that 3.25gb RAM
